The first month gets lumped together because it is all sort of a blur. Luckily, I have some pictures to help me remember.
Paige at One Month

She loves her Binky! She is my only baby who ever wanted a Binky. I'm not sure what I think about it. I'm glad it makes her happy, but I'm hoping it doesn't slow her down in other ways, like smiling and babbling.

When she cries, she really cries! She has a ticked off cry! Haha! Other babies complain a little and then cry, but she lets you know that she has an opinion.

She takes a bottle and the kids still jump at the opportunity to feed her. Ashlyn feels like such a big girl when she gets to help with Paige.

She spends a lot of time in her car seat while we are picking up and dropping off kids at all the places they need to be and running errands. (She hates wearing socks, so I usually just throw a blanket over her.)

So far, she doesn't seem to mind and is pretty good in the car. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it lasts!

When she is awake, she loves to walk around the house with me while I'm cleaning up (which makes it hard to get very much done). Sometimes, I can set her down on the bed of whatever room I'm putting things away in and talk to her while I work. If she is happy, I'll keep working in that room until she complains and then we will move to the next room. Just the change of scenery will keep her happy for at least a few minutes, so I just do what I can.
She fell asleep on my bed one day and I just thought there was something so sweet about view.

She loves to be held and sleeps best when she is in some one's arms.

Sleep is still her favorite way to pass the time. She even slept through the whole visit with Great Grandma and Grandpa (my grandparents) who came to see her shortly after she was born.

As for the rest of us...
Well, this pictures was taken around 11 am on a Saturday morning. Blinds still closed, looks like a Target bag still on the table from the most recent trip there, breakfast sitting out... Do I see Goldfish?? Who knows. I hadn't been downstairs yet.

This is my laundry room on a good day! There is a load in the washer and the dryer. The upstairs bathroom hamper is full and I'm sure the laundry from my room needs to come down. There is a note from Jessica still up on my white board from about a month earlier. It says, "love you tons. Hope Paige comes soon. Jessica PS. Your the best mom in the world :) also Jessica" I think I'll leave it up for motivation when I just want to crawl back in bed.

My couch has become a changing station and my living room is regularly littered with baby items. From the lighting in this picture I'm sure it was mid day here. So much for my morning clean up routine.

I do still try to get ready for the day most days, but I don't really know why. Maybe it's to make myself feel better about my new lumpy figure. I'm always lecturing the kids about doing things full circle. It you get something out, put it away. Somehow, I can't ever quite complete a task. Paige will be happy in her seat just long enough for me to get my makeup on or dry my hair and then she is ready to be held, fed or changed, so my bathroom often looks like this.

We are all up a lot later than normal and so we are all sleeping in a little later when we can. I feel a little bad about this picture. This is Ashlyn, still asleep around 10AM, on top of her bed, not in it, wearing the clothes she fell asleep in the night before, not her pajamas. No, I'm not getting the mom of the year award this year!

Lauren usually makes it into her bed, but with me too tired to remind the kids to clean their rooms and make their beds, they often are left unmade.

Lauren is a morning person and always up before the rest of us, but even she has been a little slower to get moving in the mornings.

Ashlyn is adjusting pretty well to not being the baby any more. Jason has been really sensitive to her needs and has been making sure she gets some time with him every day all to herself.

I've been letting her be even more independent when it comes to getting dressed. She loves her hat the grandma made her and she thinks it goes with everything. The other day it was really warm and she put on a sundress, some flip flops and her hat! Good thing its a cute hat!

The older kids are AMAZING and have been so helpful!! They help with Paige. They help with Ashlyn and they haven't been complaining about doing chores or just helping around the house.

It's been a sleepy, fuzzy, messy month, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
