St. Thomas, Virgin Islands

The next day we spent at sea (I'll come back to that) and our next stop was St Thomas, Virgin Islands. It was so pretty!

Jen and Jeff got scuba certified a few months ago and found a dive club to take us all out to scuba and snorkel. Jason and I have talked about getting scuba certified and looked into it before our trip. We decided we couldn't make it work before we left. We were disappointed, but then we heard about Discover Scuba. You spend a some time with an instructor who teaches you the basics and then you get to dive just like the certified divers with the instructor. Trying to get it all planed out before we left just got complicated with a large group trying to coordinate how many instructors we needed and who was going to do what. Jason and I are not fans of complicated, so we decided to just snorkel and try it another time. As we got closer to the trip, we decided we really wanted to do the Discover Scuba. To avoid complication, we figured we would just ask them when we got there.

Unfortunately, they only had room for one more person to do Discover Scuba. I really wanted Jason to try it to see if it was something he thought we would like so we would know if we should get certified before our next vacation. Besides, there was no way I was going to go down there without him! I get nervous snorkeling if he isn't next to me!

Jeremy had signed up to do Discover Scuba, so the two of them were taught the basics on the way out to our dive/snorkel sight. All ready to go!Jason getting ready to jump in!Jason

The dive instructor's name was Jenn and she was great! She was a really cool girl and a great instructor! She made them feel really comfortable and safe.
