May Phone Pictures

Thank goodness for phone pictures or I would probably forget the little things I love in my day to day life!

Well, in some cases I document things I don't love in life! For example:  It SNOWED on May 1st!!  Snow. No sunshine, no flowers blooming. Snow.  I don't know how many times I wondered when it would be Spring.  I have learned that I need to reprogram myself about what Spring means.  In Utah Spring is simply a time when you can see the grass again.  It doesn't mean it's warm.  It mean that some trees will VERY slowly start to get a FEW leaves and your lawn MIGHT return from the dead.  Oh yeah, and the city turns your irrigation water back on so you can try to grow stuff.

I did help Jason get the bus ready to take the kids to Prom before I left town for Brynne's baptism.  He took Lauren with him and they had a nice date in downtown Salt Lake while the kids were at the dance.  He said the kids had a lot of fun and one even wrote him a really nice card and left cookies a few days later.

I remembered a few things about our car ride to California for Brynne's baptism.  The first is that Paige got carsick just four hours into the drive and threw up all over her car seat and herself.   Not knowing where I could clean it up and not wanting her to ride in a yucky car seat, or us have to deal with the smell, I pulled into the first Target and bought a new one.    The other car seat and the clothes she had been wearing found their final resting place in the dumpster and we were back on our road.  I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do!

I also remembered how much fun my kids are!  They are so funny!  The drive really went by quickly!
Friday night in Clovis the kids hung out with their friends at Kylie's house.

Jess went boating with Kylie and friends on Saturday.

I found several dozen "selfies" of Ashlyn on my phone.  Hilarious!

I found this darling picture of Paige and Ashlyn taking a bubble bath.
I remembered that Ashlyn's sweet friend Katie mailed her a picture!  What a fun surprise!

I remembered that there were a few days in May that felt like Spring.  Ashlyn and Lauren finished up their soccer season.

I remember that I felt so grateful to be the mother of my wonderful kids on Mother's Day!

Austin posted this picture of us on Instagram.  I look a little crazy, but I thought it was sweet.

I bought a new picture for my living room.  I love it!
I found this picture of the ring ceremony for Riley's wedding.  Then I remembered how she ran off when a bee buzzed her!  Lol!

I remembered how much fun I had with my friends while we were in town the weekend of Riley's wedding.  We went to tepanyaki and laughed until our cheeks hurt.

(Everyone trying to get a picture of the fire that almost roasted Jen!)
We listed Jen's house for sale.  They started remodeling and moving into my parents house just a few weeks later.  It is always so weird to say goodbye to places that hold so many memories.
We spent a lot of time with Grandma Lori (our neighbor we adopted as our grandma).  We went to the park one day and had lunch.

She gave the little girls a very special gift.  It was a cradle that her dad made for her when she was a little girl.  I knew it was important to her because she had kept it all these years.  I told her she should save it and give it to one of her daughters for their kids.  She said she had thought a lot about it and really wanted Ashlyn and Paige to have it.  I love Lori and I'm so glad we found her and have her in our lives.
Our grass finally grew back by the end of May!!  Yeah for color again in Utah!  Austin wasn't quite as excited when we told him we bought him a lawn mower.  Haha!  He is getting so grown up!
Here he is carrying a sleeping Ashlyn up to bed one night.
She must have had a problem with falling asleep downstairs because I found another picture of her crashed out at the bottom of the stairs!

And that's it for May!
