Memorial Day

Being in Utah on Memorial Day, made us all a little home sick for California. We had no idea what to do with ourselves! We are definitely having a lot of new experiences and as I like to say, "we are growing".    It wasn't warm enough for water activities and we knew we wouldn't be spending Memorial Day at Whiskeytown Lake, but we do have family here!  We decided to get together for a barbecue in the canyon with Janelle's family and Billy's family.  It has been fun getting to see them more often now that we are in Utah!   

 

 I forgot that Billy's wife, Jen, is allergic to smoke!  They brought up some briquettes to cook with instead. the only problem was that we didn't have a grill.  The kids had been looking forward to roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and tried to cook them over the briquettes.   It was comical seeing all the kids trying to get their hot dogs cooked while the briquettes were still hot!

 We had a good time and still managed to warm the marshmallows up enough to make smore's!
