Pieces of October

October was such a busy month!  Besides, Ashlyn and Jason's birthdays, Lauren breaking her arm, a trip to Clovis, a trip to the sand dunes, Cornbelly's, the marathon, Lauren's 5th grade trip to Clear Creek, Sunday drive up the Canyon, and Halloween, we still had to keep up with the day to day life and unpacking.

Here are a few more pieces of October:
Ashlyn received a birthday package in the mail from her best friend Katie.

Katie sent her this cute outfit and made her the cutest card!  We hung it on our fridge for the rest of the month, and it made me miss that sweet girl more than I can say!

Jason's office moved and they sold all of their filing cabinets.  Jason brought home a ton of them!  I wasn't sure what we would do with them at first, but I was thrilled when I realized how organized I could be!!  It helped a ton with unpacking!

I spent most of October in the basement unpacking boxes.  I wish I took a before picture because this part of the basement was covered in boxes!  Here is the work in progress.
Still playing "fort" with the basement, I hung curtains to cover the cement walls and more packing paper where the walls were already framed.  It has been so nice for the kids to have another area to play.
While unpacking, I came across this gem!
This is one of the first pictures Jason and I took together while we were dating.  I found it buried in an old box and stuck to this broken glass from a frame.  I don't think I have a digital copy of it, so maybe when I have some extra time, I'll see if I can photoshop the glass off of it.   I love this picture though!  It brings back so much emotion.  I don't think I've ever felt such intense love.  I knew I had found my soul mate.  Jason described the feeling as "coming home".  Good memories.

Ashlyn spent most of her time with Ruby and Ellie, our two neighbors.  Such cute girls!
I have no idea who took this picture, but Lauren got better with dealing with her cast and was happy to learn for herself that she could still pick Paige up.

Jason and I had a fun night getting dressed up and going to the Home Builders of Utah Inaugural Gala.
Ashlyn loved putting on warm clothes and posing for pictures she would ask me to send to daddy while he was at work.

We had lots of morning snuggles.
Even Paige has been snuggling more and more.
She is talking more everyday and has a bit more sass.  Her new phrase is "I don't want it" that she uses when I try to do her hair or get her dressed.   She loves the pink stool, but when I see her with it, I can guess that she is probably up to trouble.

We went to my Aunt's house one night to visit with my grandparents, who were in town visiting and I got to see some of my cousins and their kids.  I wish I had taken some pictures.  Jessica made a hilarious video with one of her friends for health class.  She is such a funny girl.  And... I think that wraps up October!
